Introducing phpESP
A php based scripts that enable you to create and manage surveys of your own. In addition to that, you can gather all the results and save them to a database for future use. phpESP is an easy web application to use.
Installing phpESP – Fantastico De Luxe
- Step 1: Login to your Admin cPanel http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel.
- Step 2: Locate and click on the Fantastico De Luxe Icon.
- Step 3: Under the “Polls and Surveys” section, find and click on “phpESP”.
- Step 4: In the right panel, select “New Installation”.
- Step 5: on page 1 of the installation process, you will be prompted for the installation directory. To have “phpESP” installed on your website’s main page (http://www.yourdomain.com) leave it blank else, insert the directory of your choice (http://www.yourdomain.com/phpesp). Fill out all the required information accordingly and click “Install phpESP”.
- Step 6: A summary of the installation details will be posted. Once read, click “Finish Installation”. You will also see the link to your phpESP script; click it to start using the application.
Installing phpESP – Manually
Manual installation of WebCalendar is an automatic procedure via the web interface that will guide you through step-by-step in order to have WebCalendar fully and correctly installed..
- Step 1: Browse the official site of phpESP and download the latest stable version of phpESP to your desktop.
- Step 2: Uncompress the downloaded file to a specified directory on your desktop.
- Step 3: Upload the extracted files to your web hosting account via FTP to a specified directory of your choice (e.g. /phpesp).
- Step 4: Login to your Admin cPanel, locate and click on MySQL Databases.
- Step 5: Create a MySQL database name “phpesp” and save its name along with the username and password for future use.
- Step 6: Also from within cPanel go to “PhpMyAdmin”, select the database you have just created, and click on “SQL”.
- Step 7: Copy the content of the file named "mysql_populate.sql" which is available under “/public_html/phpesp/scripts/db”, and paste it into the SQL Form and click Go. This should create the database tables of phpESP.
- Step 6: After successful creation of the database and its tables, go to the location of your newly uploaded files: http://www.yourdomain.com/phpesp/
The default username/password are root/esp
phpESP is now fully installed. Don’t forget to change the default administrator password.
Using phpESP
Create a new survey
To create a survey:
- Login to phpESP administrative backend.
- Click on “Create a New Survey”
- Fill in the required fields and move along the wizard to fill all the 5 steps and provide all the data required.
- Once finished, you will have to activate your survey in order to be able to use it.
Change the status of a Survey
To change the status of a survey:
- Login to phpESP administrative backend.
- Click on “Change the status of a survey”
- Click on the status that you would like to change the survey to. (delete/activate/end)
Create a new user
To create a new user:
- Login to phpESP administrative backend.
- Click on “Manage Designer Account”
- Fill in the required fields and select the proper privileges
- Click “Add”
Backup phpESP Database
- Step 1: Login to your hosting account cPanel, locate and click on the “PhpMyAdmin” icon.
- Step 2: From within PhpMyAdmin, choose the phpESP Database.
- Step 3: On the top menu of the database table list, click on “Export”.
- Step 4: In the export options, make sure you:
- “Select All” Tables
- Check “Structures” property.
- Check “Data” property.
- Check “Save as” option
- Step 5: Once you double check that all the options in step 4 are set, click Go and save to the file to your desktop.
