WHB Hires Sr. Public Relations Manager

My name is Tyler Thompson and I have just been hired as the Senior Public Relations Manager for WHB. In this position, I will be in charge of content here in the blog as well as the monthly client newsletter. With time, we will grow the wealth of information provided to clients in this setting to a whole new level.

I pride myself in having a very diverse background in my five years in the IT industry. I have had the opportunity to experience a broad range of technologies and network with industry experts throughout the world. I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself and to provide you with a little more information about myself.

In late 2003, I bought my first domain name, started hosting my own website, and really began to enjoy coding and working with servers. My love for technology has grown exponentially since then, but the fundamentals I learned from my early days in the industry are still helpful today.

In 2004, I was first published by PCMech.com with a tutorial, “Creating a Web / File Server.” Over the next four years, I had over 50 technical articles published and eventually became the Newsletter Editor, sending out a weekly newsletter to over 20,000 readers.

I spent two years as a web developer for a company in Wichita, Kansas working in a LAMP setting and developing web applications for school districts around the country. During this time, I really gained an appreciation for the flexibility Linux servers provide web hosts, and with the addition of PHP, MySQL, and other open source applications, make it one of the most powerful platforms in the world.
