Question unable to set ftp account for subdirectory

I set up a subfolder in public_html for my son to create a website in. I then created a subdomain and an ftp account for him to use pointed at the subfolder. We are using Dreamweaver to upload the files, but he is unable to because of permission problems. The permissions are the same as the rest (755). I tried making them 777 for his directory but no help and I reset it to 755. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong? Am I missing a step?

Drew

When you enter the sub-domain in your web browser, does it resolve to the correct folder?
