Thread: php5 and mysql5

  1. #11

Question what are the actual versions of php and mysql running on WHB?

All articles to this topic are very dated, can we get an update please?

Or please point me to where I can see the current versions being used (on my server).

    Thanks very much!

You can see the versions for yourself in cPanel. In X3 theme, for example, they're shown in the left side column.

On my server, it's PHP 5.2.9 and MySQL version 5.0.67.
I am not WHB staff and I am not paid.
I provide help in these forums on my own time.

Question how to get MySQL 5.x?

    Many thanks!

    PHP version 5.2.6
    MySQL version 4.1.22-standard-log

    it says on mine.

May I continue to ask how to get MySQL 5.x?

Default PHP 5 and MySQL 5

    Hi,

I am a SitePoint PHP Developer and just noticed that my Galaxy server is running PHP 5.2.6 and MySQL 4.1.22! I would like to know when this server (Galaxy) will be updated to MySQL 5?

My applications that I am writing now are going to need MySQL 5.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Your account's transfer to a new server with MySQL 5 is required. This is possible if you upgrade to one of our new hosting plans:

The transfer itself is free of charge.

That seems odd to me. In my experience, MySQL can be upgraded on the fly without even a reboot. MySQL 4 is reaching end of life. It should be standard maintenance to upgrade all servers to MySQL 5. The end of this year is the end of 4.1.

These are the specs on Shared 7:

    My development machine is:
    Linux 2.6.27.7
    Apache 2.2.11
    MySQL 5.0.67
    PHP 5.2.10

    Default Why?

    Hi,

Why do I need to transfer to a new server?

I have a SitePoint Account that I just paid for the whole year.
Maybe I should let SitePoint read about this.
