We plan hardware maintenance on the server with overall downtime about 30 minutes. Maintenance window is from 02:00 to 04:00 EDT tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17).
We plan to install additional coolers and replace one of HDDs.

Well, to summarize all this.
We've installed additional cooling system in the server case, average temperature inside the case has dropped from ~70deg. (Celsius) to ~50, so we assume this part is ok. One of server's HDD's (namely mounted as /home2) is in pre-fail state now. This causes huge system load related to device I/O wait delays. The problem is that we can't install additional internal HDD, all available drive cradles in the case are used. So, we decided to use current backup array for data rearrangement. Now I'm disabling account backups on the server, destroying the array and re-using drives to replace the failing one. Partition, mounted under /home2, will be remounted in read-only mode during data rearrangement, so you won't be able to upload any new files. Please accept our apologies for any temporary inconvenience, but this needs to be done now, before actual data loss.

I'm rebooting the server in order to apply preliminary filesystem layout. Estimated downtime is about 5 minutes.
