We recently launched our Next Generation VPS plans. These differ from our old plans in a number of ways;
* NG VPS plans have higher memory allocations * NG VPS plans have a different carrier control panel We are offering free migration to all customers on the old VPS plans to the NG VPS plans. In terms of differences, all virtualized operating systems remain the same, you still get cPanel etc but you should see a dramatic performance boost with the memory increases. Your price plan remains the same. If you would like to migrate to the NG VPS platform, please submit a low priority ticket to the virtual servers department in our helpdesk. You will then be scheduled into our transfer queue and the current lead time is 48-72 hours. When we are ready to transfer yoru VPS, we will inform you and begin the transfer. Questions Will there be any downtime? Downtime will be kept to a minimum but unfortunately, a small amount of downtime may occur. We forward DNS from the old server to the new to minimise downtime while propagation occurs Do my account details change? Domain names, usernames and passwords all remain the same. IP addresses will change for your account and your nameservers, so it is important you update your nameserver ip addresses with your domain registrar. You will be advised of the new ip addresses via the helpdesk ticket. Our DNS forwarding technique should result in minimal downtime while your ip changes propagate. Why migrate? Our NG plans offer approximately double the amount of memory at the same monthly cost. This equates to an almost doubling in performance. You're more than welcome to stay on the old system if you like, but the new one is much, much faster ![]() With any migration, we are doing this slowly and steadily. We will not be overloading our servers or our human resources so will be migrating a small number of VPSes at a time. If this means you have to wait a little longer than expected for your transfer then please be patient, we will get to it and we will do it smoothly. Thank you for your continued business.
