Dear Client,
We are consolidating a number of our servers in the FortressITX datacenter to a smaller number of racks. At present, we have servers scattered about the facility and we intend to migrate them into racks of our own. This offers us the advantage of using our own network gear and own power distribution units. Our own network gear will be significantly more redundant than the current setup, with HRSP feeds to 2 border routers and our own PDU gear will include APC remote reboot strips. At present, as not all of our servers can be rebooted remotely and we have to wait some time for an onsite technician to reboot a server. This will eliminate the delay as we can reboot the server ourselves. We expect approximately 15 minutes of downtime; the server has to be powered down, removed, rewired then powered up with us making a note of the rack location. This may be extended if the server has to run a FSCK, but generally we are expecting this to go smoothly. We will have extra staff on hand to deal with any unexpected delays. __ Regards, Alexey S.
