Happy Birth day to me

Happy Birth day to me

Happy Birth day to good old Saf

Happy Birth day to me…..and the saga continues….hush!

Okay its my birth day on the 31st of August so thank you thank you for all the wishes.. I wish… )-: Anyways the guys have planned a full blown night out to sheffield. Why sheffield, well I do not know may be its just one hours drive from lincoln where I live at the moment. Never been there before so I am looking forward to seeing some new bars and clubs compared to same back to old kent road types in lincoln. Lincoln I must tell you although small but is a very beautiful city founded probably thousands of years ago and is located in lincolnshire. There is a lot of history behind it but I will post more about that some other time.

With the recent problems being encountered by Windows users all across the country, people are begin to ask themselves if windows is a virus. In response to the high demand for an answer to that question a study was done and concluded the following.

1. Viruses replicate quickly.
Windows does this.

2. Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so.
Windows does this.

3. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk.
Windows does this.

4. Viruses are usually carried, unkown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems.
Windows does that too.

5. Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware.
Same with Windows, yet again.

Maybe Windows really is a virus.

Nope! There is a difference!

Viruses are well supported by their authors, are frequently updated, and tend to become more sophisticated as they mature. So there! Windows is not a virus.

Some more exciting changes…

Over the course of the next week or two, we’re experimenting with creating an addon to our Kayako helpdesk that will display an RSS feed of the latest server news from whbstatus.com, dependant on which server you are on (ie, which server you specify in your profile).

We’re not expecting it to be operational for a few weeks yet. But if you see some news suddenly when you login, and it’s disappeared by the time you next login, it means we’re playing :)

Well, I gotta say it… shallow as it may be, we are attention whores. We love receiving attention and praise! Consequently, we’ve started collecting the nice replies and comments you say about our service in the helpdesk and we’re putting them in a regularly updated testimonials page at http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/aboutus/testimonials.html. We’re also archiving our old testimonials for reference ;)

If you have a testimonial you’d like to make, please feel free to submit it through the helpdesk or email it to sales@webhostingbuzz.com. If you’ll allow us to feature it as a ‘featured testimonial’ on our page too, that’d be great!

Thank you clients for your fantastic support :)

Strange place to post a job position, no? ‘What the heck’, I thought, so here goes.

WHB is looking for talented level 3 systems administrators to join our hard working team. Interested candidates must be 18+, have 4 years minimum experience of Linux hosting with Cpanel and willing to work some obscure shifts. Don’t worry, they are regular 8 hour shifts… the double shifts are left, uh, primarily for me.

If you’ve got what it takes and are interested, drop your resume to matt@webhostingbuzz.com – if you’re good, we’ll talk :)

For those of you having visited our site since Saturday, you may have noticed a few changes. Yep, our fully redesigned website is now alive and kicking and we’re just about done making the final tweaks. Those with comments, please feel free to add them to this blog post, as we’d love to hear them. Take a peak; www.webhostingbuzz.com
I’m also taking the time now to formally announce the upgrade of whbstatus.com. We’re now using a forum-style system where each server has it’s own forum that you can subscribe to and get updates of any incidents or maintenance. We advise that you register and subscribe to the main announcements forum, and to any specific server forums where you have an account on that server. www.whbstatus.com
